Misua, a simple but flavorful soup. It's one of my favorite Filipino soups and takes less than 30 minutes! Misua, pronounced mee-swa, are wheat noodles or aka Chinese vermicelli noodles and cook in 3-5 minutes. They absorb whatever sauce/broth they are in and the longer they sit, the thicker your soup will get. There's many versions of misua you can make, but this one with ground meat, shrimp, and patola is my favorite.

Instructions
In a large heated soup pot, add in olive oil (½ Tbsp). Next, add onions (½ medium) and saute until soft.
Add the garlic (4 cloves) and saute until soft.
Next add ground chicken or pork (1 lb). Mix and saute until meat is no longer pink.
Add in fish sauce ( to taste), bouillon cube (1 cube), and shrimp heads. Continue to stir until shrimp heads turn pink.
Add in chicken broth or water (8 ½ cups). Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, add in shrimp (10–15 whole) and patola (3). Cover and cook until shrimp is opaque.
Add in misua noodles (5 oz). These cook super fast, approx. 2-3 minutes.
Season to taste with S&P ( to taste) and fish sauce ( to taste).
